Website Design + Development | Salvadori Redesigned Website
As my role as the Content Designer for Salvadori Center, I designed and developed a Squarespace website for the Salvadori Center, a nonprofit organization offering STEM education programs to K-12 students in NYC. This project aimed to develop a functional and updated website for Salvadori Center, streamlining navigation and presenting a fresh design. The website replaces the previous one used for a decade.
Project Duration: 7 weeks
The project was finished within a span of 7 weeks. Within this timeframe, it included a comprehensive review of the current web content, the establishment of a Squarespace account, and collaborative efforts in crafting the website copy. The design and development phase specifically took three weeks to complete.
DESIGN CONCEPT + PROCESS
A central design feature is the top-of-page banner, displaying a dynamic collage of in-house photos that vividly capture Salvadori programs. These images showcase students deeply engaged in collaborative, project-based learning, inviting visitors to explore the website and experience the vibrancy of STEAM education. The banner serves as a visual gateway allowing visitors to experience the vibrancy of Salvadori's
educational initiatives.
1 | BANNER ELEMENT
A distinctive visual throughout is the faded brick wall design, symbolizing the "built environment" core to Salvadori programs. This element adds aesthetic depth and aligns with the organization's educational approach, reinforcing the tangible aspects of STEAM education in a meaningful and cohesive manner.

3 | BRAND COLORS AND MEANING
The color scheme centers on Salvadori's brand colors—blue, yellow, and green. Beyond aesthetics, the dominance of blue in web design signifies intelligence and trust, aligning with Salvadori Center's position as a thought leader in project-based STEAM education. These colors convey a message of trust and expertise, crucial for positioning the organization at the forefront of its field.
Integral to the content strategy,
full-bleed images tell the story of Salvadori programs. Real-life images of students engaged in collaborative learning are strategically placed throughout the website. These visuals, captured during Salvadori programs, showcase the fun and engaging nature of the initiatives, ensuring a compelling and immersive
user experience.
